While in California last October i got to ride one of my favourite trails over there. The San Juan Trail is just above san Juan Capistrano in California. It is a trail that runs from the top of a mountain road which eventually leads to Lake Elsinore. The trail is mainly narrow singletrack which runs along the mountain face. Its well over 14 miles long and 90% downhill. On the day i filmed it was the worst rain that California had in years. The trails close when it rains over there to protect them. So this was the first day they opened. Im joined by two good Irish friends that live in Huntington Beach, Dave MacNeill(some old skool mtber’s will know him as a great junior rider with MAD/Cycleways) and Steven Tynan(brother of famous Epic race organiser Adam Tynan). This is just one section of the trail as it takes nearly an Hour to descend the whole thing. Im also riding a Giant Trance 2 which Dave organised for me from his friend at a bike shop in Lake Forrest, CA. Sorry for wet lense but you get the idea. Oh how i wish i could ride it again on my own bike.
