Ballinastoe Woods – Sunday – September 11th, 2011

Mountain-biking legend Gee Atherton is coming to Ireland on a serious hunting mission!
The multiple World Cup winner will saddle up for Red Bull Foxhunt, an innovative downhill-pursuit challenge. Red Bull Foxhunt is a light-hearted play on the traditional & somewhat controversial past-time of foxhunting.

However, in Red Bull Foxhunt the roles are very much reversed!

‘The Fox’, Gee Atherton, will chase down the hunt (general competitors) in a cross-country, downhill mountainbike chase… The event will be open to approximately 200 of Ireland’s top downhillers, who will begin the testing race in a mass-start format. The course will be strategically set to give both Gee Atherton and the massed hunters a seriously tough challenge. Gee ‘The Fox’ will be set free marginally after the main group & will attempt to bash his way down the course & overtake as many riders as possible!

As he passes out each hunter, they are eliminated. By the time he reaches the finish line, the fox will hope to have his revenge & capture all the hunters!

Red Bull Foxhunt will takes place at approx 3pm on Sunday, September 11th as part of the ‘Epic Blast’ weekender.
Qualification begins at 11am on Sunday morning & applications are already maxed out!

Overnight camping on Saturday night is also available at Roundwood campsite.
