GABRIEL DAWE: PLEXUS C2 EXHIBIT AT TED 2012

I first became aware of Gabriel Dawe in the lead up to TED 2012 and after a bit of research was totally impressed with his installations and the imagination it takes to create such a visual explosion in a large span of any building.

On first arriving at  the Long Beach Performance Arts Center you are greeted by this colourful exhibit. It took many days(80 hrs) to install and made a massive impression on the attendees.

The install is created using thin fibers of colourful silk which is weaved back and forth from one side of the stairway to the other.

The City of Long Beach were so impressed that they asked the artist to leave it in place after the event. Click here.
