VCXC, BC Premier Series and COTR. There are so many races to choose from in BC. Every weekend is filled with a few races to choose from. Double header weekends are the norm now.
First stop was Cloverdale for the VCXC. This was a new venue and I really liked it. It was fast, dry and flowy. Is this really Vancouver CX?
Start Line nerves..never.
The pain train in full effect. It was a bit like a road race.
The barriers that defined the day.
Barriers with a twisty run up.
The train over the barriers.
The move that lost me the race. Jumping the barriers just before the finish line would be my demise.

The next day we hit a staple in the Vancouver Cyclocross scene – Vanier Park. Right in the heart of Downtown Vancouver with North Shore and City views. the crowds are always huge and the racing very fast.
Once again it was group racing for most of the race until Mark Karau got away in traffic and was never seen again. That left 7 of us fighting for 2nd place. Last year I had a great battle with Nick Berry. This year was no different and we both got away from the group after a few laps and diced it out for first loser. Nick got me in the exact same place as last time. Will I ever learn? He probably one of my favourite people to race as he battles for every corner just like me.
Rolling up to the start line.
The bridge at high speed.
More pack racing as we weave through the back markers.
Fast corners just like a road race.
Carrying as much speed as I can on the grass.
