Juliana Ride Out with Steed Cycles

A few months ago while chatting with Seb Kemp(Santa Cruz) and Katie Zaffke (Juliana Bicycles) at their HQ in Santa Cruz we discussed the idea of organizing a Ladies ride event in Vancouver. We didn’t want to have an event that was “Pink it and shrink it” for the girls. We know that Ladies on the PNW are all rippers and shred the trails just like the guys. We wanted to celebrate the fun of riding bikes and hanging with friends. Add in a social element to it and you have the first ever Juliana Ride Out.

After a month of promoting the event on Social Media and lining up the best Juliana Ambassadors around we were ready to roll. Over the winter there was not too much riding on the Shore thanks to the snow so this was the first ride of the year in the dirt for many. The turnout was great.

We had Kelli Emmett, Sarah Leishman, Mical Dyck, Jamie Hill and Elladee Brown along with some of our own Ambassadors Monika Marx, Calindy Ramsden and Natasha Cowie showing all the groups around Fromme. To say the stoke level was high was an understatement.

After all the groups finished their wet, cold ride we brought them all back to Steed to have some lunch and relive the adventures they had on the trails.

That evening we had a party at the store with a ‘Chat Show’ style panel presented by myself with all the Ambassadors and team members. It was a great opportunity to hear their stories about getting into cycling and racing around the world. It was a great inspiration to the guest very informative. The night wrapped up with more beer drinking and partying til the late hours.
